Data Engineer
Most transformation projects fail on plumbing. You build the ingestion, the pipelines and the data quality checks that stop that happening.
About the role
You will spend real time in client source systems working out what the data actually is, not what the schema says it is. Migration and reconciliation are a large part of the job.
What you will do
- Build ingestion and transformation pipelines that run unattended
- Reconcile messy source systems into something usable
- Design and enforce data quality checks
- Plan and execute migrations, with a rollback that works
- Model data so downstream teams can answer questions themselves
- Document lineage so an auditor can follow it
What we are looking for
- Strong SQL and Python
- Pipeline orchestration in production
- Experience with migration and reconciliation work
- Cares about testing and reproducibility
Useful, not essential
- Warehouse or lakehouse platform experience
- Streaming and event-driven pipelines
- Working with government or institutional data
